It's after the Election and
Things are Picking up -- yes, picking up Campaign Signs
Since the day after the campaign, we have been driving the district picking up signs. We started in the northern part of the county and are moving south. If you come across a campaign sign and it is in a safe place, you could do me a favor and pick it up. If you do pick up a sign, just add them to your trash. If you would rather, send me an email with locations of signs that you see and we will get them up. I have received a couple of emails with generic areas of signs that need to be picked up, but finding them hard to locate. I would appreciate streets and cross streets when possible. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
What an election! The GOOD news is that a sleeping giant was awakened – the people. The weakened economy, the loss of jobs and increased government control in our lives is now widespread and everyone recognizes these realities as facts, not scare tactics. The dedicated volunteers that joined my campaign were just unbelievable. There are insufficient words to express the gratitude I have in my heart, and I will continue to say thank you. The campaign to bring representation back to the 8th Congressional District starts fresh today.
It is just too BAD that the primary was held only 6 weeks before the general election. While we managed to get out yard signs (lots), billboards at businesses, magnetic mobile signs on trucks, special mailings, metro advertising and TV commercials, we simply needed more time to reach the people. We need to work harder to improve the voter turnout. This win was clearly within reach.
The UGLY truth is that we still have a representative that worries at night about his resume, not Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. We still have to worry about our businesses, jobs and family finances.
Now we look to the FUTURE. Today is the first day of the new campaign. We have the time to reach the people and motivate everyone to turn out at the next election. Today we start our new job as watchdogs, we will hold Van Hollen accountable for his decisions. Membership is now open, join our team!
